Ride a Tuna...

Went by Oregon Inlet today after coming back from a surf down in Rodanthe. Pretty cool place with its replica of the North Carolina state record catch of a giant Bluefin Tuna weighing at 805.5 Ibs! Would like to see that crazy kiwi guy jump from a helicopter and try and catch this baby with his bare hands! Doubt it...

Surfin' Spoon

Stopped by the famous Surfin' Spoon yogurt bar tonight and was pretty awesome. Somewhat like Pinkberry over in Dubai but more homely and just plain better! There was no limit to how much yogurt you could get and there was a ton of different flavors and toppings. It's even a place where the most straight edge health freaks can go and chow down on some frozen goodness. Even got to talk to the owner Jesse Hines who's no stranger to the Middle East, when he did a trip to Oman couple years back. With amazing interior design and that good old feel of a place you want to hang out, I can say i'll be coming back for seconds.

A Journey...

It's not just another collection of photos taken cause its flat out in the ocean, but its a story. I wont tell you what I think or give you hints, so use your imagination.

Morning light...

Not much happened today here on the OBX. Small waves in the morning, rained all day, and some more small waves in the afternoon. But tomorrow is a different day, and like the light coming through, think it will hopefully come through tomorrow.

Couple shots a day on the OBX

Well, i'm back on the OBX this summer for a couple of weeks, and yea it's good to be back and not be in the Arabian desert melting away and watching everybody fast for Ramadan. It's gonna be surf, good food, and more surfing and for sure documenting my stay here. I'm gonna start this little project for myself trying to at least upload one or more photos everyday of happenings around me on the OBX, unless I get lazy, but i'll try not to.

So here's one on my first day back. Little brother, frothing.

Davis Photography

So I got a website now, it's not finished but it's almost there. Been working on this thing for awhile now, in between boring summer days and trying not to go insane in this horrific weather in this forsaken land of desert dwellers. So have a look and hope you like it. This is pretty much a preview of whats to come, so sit tight and wait...

I can't fly...

I don't like wakeboarding, maybe cause I can't even do it, but James seems to have a giggle.

You should look harder...

You will look and think different things, look harder and you might understand it.

Blurry insanity...

Darkness is spreading... and by this I mean no more waves and the summer is here bringing her blistering heat waves and scolding sun.Being so hot that you could cook your Breakfest in the middle of the road. Then there's that little light at the end of the horizon...Al Ain.

Waves...Al Ain? That's right! Wadi Adventures in Al Ain has given hope to us people who have to stay in this God forsaking desert through out the summer. Providing a wave pool and goat boating courses, it's a little peace of heaven in hell. So if your almost going insane and it looks like you're reenacting that one scene from Apocalypse now, then head down to Wadi Adventures. It'll fix you...for a bit.

Here's a couple of blurry shots of us getting that desert sand out of are pockets.

Couple of kooks, out to see The Kooks...

Most of my days I am resorted to sitting on the terrace at the surf house, wishing something would come along and get me off this chair, finally something did. The Chill Out Festival was back in Dubai with some entertaining line ups. With world music, some funky jazz, hip hop and not a very crowded venue, it was pretty cool. Sitting on the grass having a drink and chilling out, it gave a small little light to this plastic wonderland.

The last night of the festival went out with a bang! Having The Kooks head lining the show it was the place to be on Saturday night. Playing everything from new to old hits with amazing sound and a hint of " I love you!" from the crowd of underage groupies. It was a good show, got me out from the walls of Sunset Beach and put a smile on my face. But now back to the terrace, looking off into the horizon again...waiting.
